Hertz' MWDBE Program Now Online
New Minority and Women Disadvantage Business Enterprises Section on Hertz.com
Minority and Women Owned Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (MWDBE) seeking to become qualified suppliers for The Hertz Corporation under the company's MWDBE Supplier Diversity Purchasing Program are now able to obtain all pertinent information, including a prospective vendor Data Sheet, on the company's website, www.hertz.com.
Operating its MWDBE Supplier Diversity Purchasing Program since 1989, Hertz encourages and promotes the use of MWDBE when making corporate purchases, having an ongoing commitment to use such firms when and wherever possible. By incorporating key program elements online, Hertz is making it easier for potential partners to research the company's program and to obtain a vendor Data Sheet directly online. To access the MWDBE Supplier Diversity Purchasing Program information, prospective suppliers simply click on the Supplier Diversity button found under 'Business to Business.'
Simon Ellis, Staff Vice President, Properties & Concessions said, "Hertz has a longstanding commitment to the growth of minority and women-owned businesses by affording all MWDBEs the opportunity to compete, on an equal basis, for purchases of goods and services. The new MWDBE Supplier Diversity section on hertz.com provides detailed information about the company's program, making it easier for prospective partners to begin working with Hertz."
Hertz' MWDBE Supplier Diversity Program guides firms through the process of becoming a Hertz supplier. Hertz managers assist businesses in qualifying as a supplier and, once qualified, the vendor information is added to Hertz' database and tracking system, enabling the company to coordinate purchasing efforts between the corporate purchasing department, field personnel, and suppliers.
Hertz is a member of the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) and participates in its annual Business Conference and Opportunity Fair. In addition, Hertz participates in the NMSDC's local affiliate councils and works with various state, city, and airport agencies to identify prospective MWDBEs to expand its program.
Hertz, the world's largest car rental company, operates from approximately 7,000 locations in more than 150 countries.
