Hertz Hosts Grand Opening of Reservations Center In Saraland, Alabama - Governor Siegelman Officiates
Today, The Hertz Corporation
In May 2000, Hertz began operating at the 90,000 square-foot, Reservations Center, and today's ceremony marked the official opening.
"Hertz has received an overwhelmingly positive reception from the people of Saraland and Mobile County, and we are pleased to be part of this fine community. The growth of Hertz' car rental business required us to expand outside of our Worldwide Reservations headquarters in Oklahoma City -- today's events further justify our decision to expand here," said Wayne Bowman, Hertz Staff Vice President, Worldwide Reservations.
"I am pleased to once again spread the word to the world that Alabama is simply a great place in which to do business. This announcement not only means 500 new jobs for South Alabama, but it means hope for a higher quality of life for 500 Alabama families," said Governor Don Siegelman.
Following the ribbon cutting ceremony, Hertz hosted a luncheon reception for Hertz' employees, Saraland officials, the Chamber of Commerce, the Satsuma Scholarship Committee and other guests. All employees received gifts commemorating the event.
Hertz operates from approximately 6,500 locations in more than 140 countries worldwide.
